GROUP FITNESS LEADER (INDIA) - FAQs
Who are Workout Away? We are a UK based fitness holiday company providing our customers with their perfect active break. We are based in London and we are currently hosting programmes in the UK, Portugal, Greece and India.
Where will I be going in India? At present we have planned programmes in Goa only.
How long will I be away for if I don’t live in Goa? Our trips are 7 nights, you are required to arrive at the resort one day before the guests so you will be away for 8 nights.
Are flights provided? Yes, you will be provided with return flights from your nearest airport to Goa Airport (GOI)
What about meals? Just like our guests, you will receive breakfast and dinner. Where breakfast and dinner are not provided, a meal allowance will be paid.
Is there any training required? Your fitness certifications ensure that you are already suitability qualified to deliver any necessary physical activity. You will complete three full days of training (delivered remotely) to familiarise yourself with our business, our programmes and your responsibilities in resort. The training days are paid.
How many classes will I teach? This is more complex as our programmes are so varied. You will provide the majority of classes in resort with a small amount being outsourced to local instructors. When allocating an instructor to a programme we will try and match the skill set as best we can. With this in mind, we are looking for instructors who are all-rounders and can provide a range of classes.
Will I have free time to myself? Your working day will begin early sometimes before sunrise for morning activities until lunchtime when you will break. Afternoon activities will then start until the evening, leading up until dinner. You can then choose to dine with the group or not. After that, your evening is your own. On both long and short trips, you will work each day.
What does the administration part of the role include? Most administration is carried out in the UK. When you are away you will need to keep track of expenses, handle reservations at restaurants etc and book transport from our partner providers.
If anything goes wrong will I have support 24/7? For any safety critical issues, there is an emergency contact number that you will need to call regardless of where you are or what time it is. Customer experience issues that can be handled locally should be solved by yourself to make things better for our guests, this is why a solution-focused approach to work is essential.
Will I work alone or as part of a team? As the group fitness leader, you will work alone to manage the customer experience throughout the trip. You will also deal with external service providers on a day to day basis.
Can I socialise with the guests? Of course, we want our guests to have a great time and we want the same for you. Bearing in mind that our holidays are centred around fitness and wellbeing, alcohol can be consumed but only in moderation and conduct should always be appropriate.
What will my accommodation be like? Accommodation varies depending on the base location. You may be required to share your room with another staff member otherwise you will have your own room. You may not necessarily be accommodated at the same venue but you will be very close by. You will receive a good level of accommodation furnished to a high standard. You are not required to share rooms with guests.
Can I take a friend or family member away with me? Concessional benefits are available, details will be given during training.
Do I have to commit to the whole trip? Yes, you are required to remain in resort for the duration of the trip.

This is a self-employed freelance position, therefore, all income is subject to tax deductions as enforced by the Income Tax Department in India. You are responsible for completing your own ITR form submission as a self employed individual.
