FAQs
What does freelance mean?
Freelance means that Workout Away Ltd does not employ you; instead, you work as a self-employed individual, which is standard within the fitness industry. You'll submit invoices to us, paid one month in arrears.
You're responsible for submitting your own tax return at the end of the financial year, declaring all of your income to HMRC.
How much work will I get?
You'll need to complete initial training before we allocate you your retreats. Initial training is a combination of online and face-to-face learning. The classroom sessions take place at our office in Brentford, close to London. Once you're trained up, we'll need you to commit to two retreats per calendar year.
How many classes will I teach each day?
Around 2.
Are flights and accommodation provided?
Yes. We will arrange your flights from a London airport; therefore, if you live in a regional area of the UK, please consider that you'll need to get yourself to the airport at your own cost. When you're away, you'll stay in shared company-provided accommodation, which is a minimum of a three-star standard.
What about meals?
Currently, Etu by Workout Away retreats are all-inclusive, and you'll have access to the same dining options as our guests. You won't need much spending money while you're away.
Will I have free time to myself?
You'll have free time each day, but you do need to be contactable at all times while on your retreat just in case anything unexpected happens, and we need your in-resort support.
Can i socialise with the guests?
Working overseas is very exciting, and it can feel very much like you're on holiday. We absolutely encourage you to socialise and spend time with our guests as we firmly believe that it enhances their retreat experience.
If our team members choose to drink alcohol, we ask that this is in moderation, as you represent our brand at all times when you're away.
What types of classes will I teach?
You'll teach Workout Away HIIT, which is our pre-choreographed cardio format. You'll also teach Workout Away Revive, our yoga-inspired session, along with Workout Away Rivals, our team-based functional strength class.
How long in advance do I need to commit to a retreat?
Around eight months.
Can I back out once I've committed to a retreat?
No.
