 The Fitness Bootcamp Lowdown 

Workout Away in Cornwall is the perfect four-night retreat to one of the most beautiful corners of the UK. Cornwall is famous for surfing, and on this trip, you'll learn the basics on the stunning Cornish coast. You'll enjoy a mixed exercise programme, from HIIT to boot camps and yoga.

On this retreat, you'll push further towards your fitness goals. If a sunrise circuits class on the beach sounds up your street, you'll love this escape. Our HIIT and core training sessions are high intensity, sweaty and challenging. We'll wind it down with our yoga-inspired classes to draw a balance in our training schedule. We'll head to surf and stand-up paddle boarding school two days of this retreat to learn the basics or improve your skills.
 
With you for the whole retreat is our Workout Away Group Fitness Leader, who will be on hand at any time should you need anything at all. You'll join the group on day one and enjoy this retreat as a team. This trip is also ideal for solo travellers, and we hope you're excited to meet some new friends.
 
Home for this retreat is the stunning St. Michaels Resort in Falmouth. This beachside resort is set in sub-tropical gardens and offers impressive health and wellness facilities. On the last afternoon of your retreat, you'll experience the hydrothermal spa with 21 massage stations, a Finnish sauna, an outdoor heated plunge pool, and a Cornish salt steam room. 

 Workouts and Activities 

HIIT Athletic

 

HIIT is a 35-minute high-intensity interval training session designed to burn calories, reduce body fat, and tone. This science-proven workout improves cardiovascular fitness, speed, agility and challenges your fitness beyond normal physical limits.

 

Revive - Yoga Inspired Workout

Revive is a class that anyone can get involved in regardless of whether you're a "yoga person". Each class starts with a dynamic warm-up before moving through some sun salutations to bring some heat to the body. We then practice strengthening postures for the lower body and balance work. We'll then move to the floor to work through some releasing twists before finishing with - you've got it - relaxation!

Beach Circuits

 

Made up of several stations, this high-intensity workout is a combination of exercises targeting your upper and lower body. You’ll improve your speed, stamina and strength with a fierce cardio kick.

 

 

Surf School

We'll meet our surf instructors at Maenporth beach, close to the hotel. Before we head out onto the water, we'll cover some safety and technique basics. Once you're ready, we'll take on some waves and practice our skills. 

 

Stand-up Paddle Boarding

This session starts with a dry run on the beach, giving us the chance to learn some basic strokes. We'll then head out onto the water with our instructor and enjoy an hour and a half exploring the area around Gyllyngvase beach. 

Hydrothermal Spa Experience

Once you arrive at the Hydrothermal Spa you will not want to leave. Immerse yourself in the Cornish salt or rainforest steam room, the red cedar hot tub, or the Finnish herbal sauna. The 21 station hydrotherapy pool is the ideal place to ease away any aches or tension from your workouts.

 

So this is what you can expect from your trip. As you can see, there’s plenty to keep you busy, active and feeling great! All activities are optional and included. You may want to get involved in everything, but we understand that everyone needs a bit of me-time too. 

 Accommodation 

 The St Michaels Resort 

The St Michaels Resort is located in Falmouth, Cornwall. The hotel is within walking distance to Falmouth Harbour and the beach. From London, you can reach the hotel by train in around five hours with one change in Truro. You're also able to fly to Newquay from London, Manchester, Teesside, and Leeds Bradford, and then take a 45-minute taxi to Falmouth from the airport. 

Each bedroom is beautifully decorated with inspiration taken from the Cornish coast. Your room is the perfect space to relax and unwind after your day of activities and events. You'll find amenities by Elemis, luxury bath towels, and tea and coffee facilities.  

On the doorstep you'll find the blue flag Gyllyngvase beach, where you can relax or start your coastal trail. If you're up for a longer walk, you can visit Maenporth and Swanpool beaches both within walking distance. 

You're in for an action-packed few days with what we have planned, but if you wanted a little me-time in the gym, your stay also includes complimentary access to the impressive on-site gym with state of the art cardio, resistance and weight training equipment.

Meals outlined in the timetable are included in the cost of your retreat. Delicious and nutritious food is guaranteed, and we'll get the chance to sample some local cuisine in our tried and tested food hotspots. Vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free? We can cater to your dietary needs.
